I decided to make my three sisters and my mother a pair of knickers for christmas. I'm fairly pleased with the outcome, I think they definately reflect my three sisters diverse personalities. I'm not so sure about my mothers, I think they're lovely but I can't imagine she'll wear them, they sit quite low and she tends to favour the variety of knickers that comes up to your chin!
Superman knickers for my youngest sister. Unfortunately they didn't photograph too well but I'm really pleased with how they turned out, they really remind me of her.
These are for my mother, I like the vintage feel.
These you may recognise as a Colette Madeline. Not, unfortunately, a good example. I used a cotton voile which was a bugger to work with. The waist line looks far to big to me but I tried them and they were too small so they should be ok on her as she's tiny. I think the legs may be too small. Never mind, I'll be armed with needle, thread and more black ribbon on Christmas day and may spend the afternoon altering them in front of Christmas telly.
For my sister who's into her animal print and red lipstick. They're a stretch pattern and as I couldn't find any animal print jersey I used swimming costume material - didn't work great, it was a bit too thick, but the overall eggect is pretty much what I was after.
Love your knickers! That sounds wrong, but you know what I mean. Great the way you've tailored each pair to the recipient's personality. I've never made knickers but you've prompted me to add the Madeleine pattern to my "to make" list - yours look so cute!
